The Ligeti Quartet

We processed and visualised 302,000 bits of data from 8 frequencies of brainwave activity

The Ligeti Quartet is dedicated to performing the incredibly complex scores of 20th century composer György Ligeti whose music featured in 2001: A Space Odyssey.

We fitted each musician with EEG technology to read their brainwave activity as they played. The data was converted into an animated  visualisation projected back onto them to create a sensorial experience of the complex.
